DESCRIPTION:

Caught between the lush Yucatán jungle and the serene Caribbean Sea, Playacar Spa and Golf Club is only for the discerning golfer.

Designed by Robert von Hagge, this course is famously the most challenging in Mexico's south-east. Even seasoned golfers have been tested by the 142-145 rated slopes; the narrow, jungle hemmed fairways; the heavy bunkers; and the long greens. This is a professional, championship course, immaculately kept in scenic surroundings. Each new section presents another picturesque vista, that will have you pausing between shots to admire the view.

The 18-hole, 72 par course covers a distance of 7,144 yards. The fairways are turfed with Bermuda grass. Each hole makes good use of the environment around it, from the jungle to the lake, in order to test golfing strategy and skill. The first nine holes are longer than the latter nine, but all require careful tactics to master. There are no blind spots. Though difficult, the course is also fair.

Beyond the course itself, Playacar Spa and Golf Club offers a Pro Golf shop; rental equipment and apparel; a restaurant; pool; lockers; and plentiful drinks on the green. A beverage buggie will circle around to ensure that all golfers are kept hydrated. The club's dress code is a collared shirt, with no denim allowed.
