Yaaj-Ximal translates, from the Mayan, as 'difficult journey' in Mayan. You can only imagine the sort of effort involved, hacking through the jungle to inch over miles, that caused the Maya to so name this route. Only imagine it because, of course, you will be exploring in the ease and comfort of a 4x4 Land Rover Discovery.

Your self-drive vehicle will take you into the depths of the jungle, where the unexpected is what you can expect. The private reserve jungle is home to a variety of wildlife, any of which might cross your path, as you pass through. Common sights are of howler monkeys, toucans, deer and iguanas. If this up-close-and-personal sight of the jungle isn't enough, then there will later be an opportunity to scale an 18ft Rappel tower for panoramic views over it.

Next up is an underground cenote with a zip-line system. This is the only place where you will be able to indulge in this exquisite experience. Everywhere else, the zip-lines are high in the air, but these will propel you through magical, underground caverns, before depositing you in the refreshingly pristine waters. You will also be able to swim and/or snorkel (your choice) in the cenote. All around you are magnificent geological formations, which were once underwater.

Throughout your adventure, you will be accompanied by bilingual adventure experts. You will learn about the Maya culture, history, legends, Gods and elves. Finally, your expedition ends with a delicious Maya buffet lunch, including an array of fresh fruit.
